Cleaning up our video segments

We've been working on creating iMovie video segments and you've had the chance to interview students and teachers. You've put the raw video into iMovie and have done edits to create news features.

We're now going to take it a step further. First, we'll analyze professional news segments by comparing and contrasting professional and our own news segments.
  • What do professional news segments have that we don't have?
  • What do professional news segments have that we could have?
  • How are most professional news segments organized? (Think: Beginning, middle, end)
  • Remember, we're focusing on HOW it is done, not WHAT the story is about.
1. Watch several different news segments.

2. In WORD:
  • write down what is similar about the news segments.
  • write down some differences between the news segments.
  • write down what is similar between the professional news segments and our news segments.
  • write down what is different between the professional news segments and our news segments.
3. What will you do differently now when you are creating your own news segment?

4. Email me your answers.
  • Be sure to write in complete sentences. Use proper grammar.
  • List your sources.
