1. Read the First Amendment.
CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF; OR ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, OR OF THE PRESS; OR THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE PEACEABLY TO ASSEMBLE, AND TO PETITION THE GOVERNMENT FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES.
2. Re-write the First Amendment so that it applies to you and the Castro Cougar Courier.
3. Look up Prior Restraint. What does it mean? How does it relate to the freedom of speech?
4. Why are there some things that you can't say?
5. How far do my First Amendment rights go as a student?
6. Are my rights being infringed upon by school rules? State laws? My parents?
7. What about privacy? Is it a reporter's responsibility to protect an individual's or group's privacy? Or is a reporter supposed to report everything they find because it is the truth?
